Hi, I’m Nicola,

of ‘Nicola Jane’, Independent Funeral Celebrant Services, based in Ramsbottom near Bury, Lancashire, and serving the surrounding areas.

After nearly 24 years of clinical work in the NHS, including 20 years as a midwife and the last 9 as a specialist bereavement midwife, I realised I could give so much more, to support many more families, going through the grieving process.

My work is embedded in a long-held belief that every chapter of life, at any age, deserves to be honoured with warmth, dignity, and sincerity.

I am dedicated to offering a professional, genuine, and compassionate service of care, supporting you and your loved ones, through life’s most emotional moments.

As a Soul Midwife, masterclass graduate, and trained death education confidante, I would be honoured to support you, with an endearing understanding, of compassionate care in death and dying. I pride myself in sharing these deeply personal times with families, helping you to find the right words, during some of life’s most difficult and emotional decisions.

These deeply emotional and personal moments deserve heartfelt care and a meaningful tribute to celebrate a loved ones life.

Throughout many personal and emotional experiences, I have guided families with compassion, listened, supported, shared tears and laughter, and honoured the beauty and significance of every life. Sometimes, finding the right words, simply offering a hug, or just being present in the moment, or holding a hand, is what matters most.

My promise to  you, is to create a personalised and meaningful funeral service, ‘a celebration of life’, that truly reflects the person you wish to honour and remember with love.

I understand how overwhelming funeral planning can feel, and I am here to support you and your loved ones with compassion and dignity throughout.

As a qualified bereavement and grief counsellor, I bring added insight to my celebrancy services, creating each ceremony to reflect your wishes and support those who are grieving.

I have a special interest in Soul Midwifery and have provided care for many, simply by listening, allowing them to ‘plan their day their way’ and simply hold their hand at the end of their life.

As a creative writer, this enables me to craft with you, heartfelt eulogies and tributes that resonate with families. Additionally, I am aspiring to expand my practice to include holistic therapies, specifically reiki, to offer further complete support.

I believe that each life is a story worth telling, and I am dedicated to presenting those stories beautifully, with dignity and respect.
